TrapTester running on XP professional

TrapTester for PC Windows (XP Pro, Vista & Windows 7 Ultimate) contains all the functionality (except for binary data links to OpenWorks and GeoFrame) that is available in the Linux and Solaris version of TrapTester. Users who are familiar with TrapTester will pick up the PC version with no extra effort as the interface is identical to the Linux and Solaris versions.

Key Features:

Projects

TrapTester projects created either on Linux or on Solaris can be transferred onto the PC and used without any modification. Likewise, a project created on the PC can be used with modification by Linux and Solaris versions of TrapTester.

Binary data links

The PC version of TrapTester has a direct data link to Petrel.

At present, the binary data links between TrapTester and OpenWorks, GeoFrame & OpenSpirit are not supported by the PC version of TrapTester. Projects requiring the data links can be created on Linux and/or Solaris and copied onto the PC Windows platform.

Requirements:

Hardware

Specifications are for TrapTester version 6.030 and higher

PC with at least 512 MB ram; 25GB of free disk space for project data and binary files; 2GHz processors (Pentium 4 or above) & 3D capable graphics card. The installation disk must be a NTFS file system.

Operating Systems

Windows XP Professional 32-bit only (SP2+); Windows 2000 Pro (SP3+); Windows 2000 Server (SP3+); Windows Server 2003 32-bit; Windows Server R2 2003 32-bit and 64-bit.

Windows Vista Ultimate / Enterprise 32-bit and 64-bit.

Windows 7 Ultimate / 32-bit and 64-bit.

Requirements

It is a requirement that all PC machines that will be running PC TrapTester have:

  • Microsoft SFU 3.5 pre-installed (if running on XP Pro)
  • Microsoft SUA on Windows Vista & Windows 7
  • 3D capable X-Server pre-installed (e.g. Exceed & Exceed 3D, version 11 is recommended)
